The Education and Creative Services team within the Operations Risk and Compliance organization at Amazon needed to update an existing training that is taken annually by 1.18 million employees who perform Dangerous Goods functions.
To ensure compliance, the training must be engaging. Not only is it taken annually, it's often taken at the end of the day. It's also rigorous; Dangerous Goods covers an extensive amount of products, laws, and protocols. Because it would be translated into 43 languages, the illustrations needed to be recognizable to learners in different regions, and in many cases also must represent actual products.
My Role
The team first met with the project stakeholders to discuss what wasn’t working for the current visual style, and gather comparative feedback about several proposed solutions. I then took their collective feedback and created an updated illustration style.
Once approval was received from all stakeholders, I updated the existing illustration assets, including products and characters. Additionally, I created net new assets of certain ASINs and product types. I also directed the Learning Design Manager on color usage, composition, typography, and transitions.
